Image management functions fail with large number of images.
The image file functions (Upload/Insert) are fairly complex, and use quite a bit of system/server resources.  Under normal conditions you should be able to manage over 1000 images, before you see any performance change.

If you experience problems or receive a timeout error message while utilizing any of the PDAdmin image functions, your web server may have insufficient resources available (memory/CPU/disk drive), has a heavy load on it, or the filesystem / hard drive is heavily fragmented.

SHARED SERVERS:
If you have installed PDshop onto a “shared” web server, you only have a small percentage of the CPU and filesystem resources available to you (this can be due to other sites/users on the server, or limitations imposed by your web host).

PDAdmin’s image functions use the "filesytem object" built into the Windows operating system.  Each time you request images, the PDAdmin scripts will connect to this windows component to load and sort through the images.  If you receive an ASP script timeout message, or it just hangs, this is an indication of a lack of sufficient server resources.  In situations like this, it may not be possible to upgrade your server or change performance.  You may want to consider using your web host’s file manager, or 3rd party FTP software to upload & manage your images.
