PayPal Error: There is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller
On 1/16/07 PayPal Support acknowledged a potential problem within their system.  If your customers receive the above error message when processing their PayPal payment, and you are certain you have the correct PayPal email address in your PDAdmin “Gateway”setup, than the error is likely due to this reported PayPal problem.

PageDown Technology was advised of a temporary workaround that you may be able to implement until PayPal solves the issue.  According to PayPal, you can modify this line of code in your "gateway_out.asp" shop file:

CHANGE THIS LINE:
<input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="1">

TO READ:
<input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="0">

By default, PDshop’s PayPal scripts are configured in such a way that your customer will not have to enter/confirm shipping address (again) on PayPal’s website.  By changing this parameter above, PayPal will no longer hide the shipping functions in PayPal (which PDshop normally handles), but should resolve the issue (according to PayPal).

UPDATE 1/17/07:
PayPal notified PageDown Technology that they have corrected this problem, see their  response below:

The issue was related to the release of site updates on the Live PayPal site on Friday, January 12, 2007. A patch that was applied to resolve an existing bug caused a larger set of issues related to the use of pre-population data. The bug was noticed through our Technical Support channels and we began addressing it immediately late Friday through the weekend until yesterday when we released a series of fixes. It should be functioning normally again and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your users.

Sincerely,
Cory
